Coronavirus Food Assistance Program
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced details of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), which will provide up to $16 billion in direct payments to deliver relief to America’s farmers and ranchers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Specialty Crops Added to the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program
Specialty Crops producers can now apply for financial assistance through USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). CFAP signup goes through August 28th. More info at farmers.gov.
The Ohio Dept. of Agriculture Resumes Pesticide and Fertilizer Testing June 2nd
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) will resume initial testing for pesticide and fertilizer applicators on Tuesday, June 2nd. Exam sessions will meet Ohio’s current standards for both meeting size and social distancing. Exams will be held in the Bromfield Administration Building on ODA’s campus in Reynoldsburg. H2Ohio Funding for Agriculture is Saved from Budget Cuts
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine preserved $50 million in H2Ohio funding despite significant cuts to the state’s overall budget. In response to the news, the Ohio Agriculture Conservation Initiative said it looked forward to continuing to provide Ohio’s farmers with the tools and resources they need to do their part to improve water quality in the state.
